“Our advanced training with Karla was absolutely outstanding. Karla’s professional and knowledgeable expertise makes everything relaxed and enjoyable. Our training covered so much that we hadn’t known or learned previously. We can highly recommend Karla for anyone looking to ensure they feel confident and knowledgeable when taking their boats out. Thank you Karla. Rob and Tash

Thanks Karla for your 3 hour practical Gold Coast boat training session reverse berthing on my boat at Horizon Shores Marina. Your knowledge , patience and professionalism is second to none , worth every cent to now have the confidence to reverse my 37 Sunrunner into my berth. Come on all you guys out there that are having trouble putting the boat away at the end of the day , a 3 hour session with Karla will have your backing the boat in with ease in the first session.

Testimonial below is regarding Offshore Navigation lessons

A big thank-you from myself and our club on the recent fishing charter to Hydrographers Passage 80 nautical miles off Mackay. We do live in the best part of the world. My friends and I were delighted by your hospitality throughout the three-day trip. Your experience in all aspects of seamanship was on practical display throughout the weekend from navigation to the professional and measured approach in which you handled the vessel in all conditions. This did much to put some ease into my seasick friend.

Some trainers obtain a certificate in training and go through the process of signing a client off as proficient when in fact they often have little substance in the field themselves. Clearly you are not one of those as your skills and depth of knowledge was evidently on show during our expedition from attending to the gen set, monitoring the engines, tweaking the desalinator, gaffing the Spanish Mackeral etc.

The sea time you have logged by doing boat deliveries along the Qld coast as well as your commercial sea time and game fishing experience meant that we were definitely in a safe pair of hands, reassuring… considering the distance offshore.

We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful heritage as the Great Barrier Reef on our doorstep, in our lifetime, and our club looks forward to your company on the next fishing charter that we take out of Mackay.

One of my pipe dreams is to own a decent size boat and fish in reef waters and if that ever comes to fruition then expect me to be on your booking form for some expert guidance.

Regards,
Mark Stevenson

Testimonial below is regarding Licensing and Advanced Broadwater Practical lessons

We recently moved to the Gold Coast to enjoy the fantastic climate and stunning waterways. After purchasing our boat, we were fortunate to have been referred to the very capable hands of Karla to guide us through the Queensland Boating and PWC licence requirements.

Karla’s professionalism in delivering on the serious side of licence requirements was balanced against her enthusiasm and extensive knowledge of the Gold Coast’s waterways.

The latter evidenced in a fantastic day out with Karla doing an Advanced Broadwater Practical session. The combination of the in-depth licence training and practical exposure to the Broadwater has provided us with the confidence and skills to enjoy our boating adventures.

Thank you Karla. Grace & Keith Allardice

Karla,

Thanks again for a great day and it worked out really well one on one, we really appreciated it.

I totally endorse your course on its practical application, good ratio of student to instructor, expert knowledge and experience from Karla and her team, excellent local knowledge, great demonstrated navigation skills and creative teaching techniques made the course a great experience and I will be recommending to all members and associates that want a new Boat or PWC license in the future that Karla’s team is the right choice!

Karla,

You will recall that I first met you at the Riviera Weekend earlier this year. You were an active participant in the program and I was impressed by your hands on and no nonsense approach. When I learned that the Boat Licencing rules were changing, I immediately enrolled my eldest Granddaughter, Katrina Chadwick, to do your course and tests. After some persuading, I also convinced my wife, Wendy, to do the course and test – quite an achievement in itself as she will tell you she is not an active but a passive boat person.

As soon as School finished, we came to Coomera and spent the day with you. Although I have been boating all my life, I sat through the course and certainly saw a different perspective in a couple of areas, and picked up some new tricks.

Not surprisingly, given your skill and patience, both Katrina and Wendy obtained their competency certificates and now have their Recreational Marine Driver Licence (RMDL) and Katrina and I also have our Personal Watercraft Licences – (Jet ski for the novice).

Thank you for your excellent work, for your patience for beginners, and for the skills you have imparted. As Christmas approaches, we look forward to having the newly licenced drivers exercise their new skills and the privileges of a licence.

Thanks again and best wishes
